Maryknoll Lay Missioners

Where the Compassion of the Faithful Transforms Lives

As Missioners we carry out our work in communities around the world, but our organization is based in Ossining, New York.  Here we join together in mission with the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers and Maryknoll Sisters. but we are each separately funded and operated.

Stateside, we play a vital role in educating U.S. Catholics about the need for mission and in preparing and training other lay mission sending groups. Each year, our Church Talks program reaches thousands of U.S. Catholics who learn about MKLM's overseas service. By sharing firsthand experiences, we make the call to mission of the Church very real.

The realities of mission are also realized by college students, who, through our longstanding collaboration with Notre Dame, Marquette, and Ohio Dominican Univiersities, participate in the MKLM Service Learning Program.  At our mission sites, students and local MKLM missioners engage in coversation, prayer and reflection. This experience fuels the drive of Catholic college-student participants to work for social justice and peace.

It's the Lay Missioner community in the U.S. that helps us provide community-based solutions for some of the greatest challenges of our time in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
