focus2016_04129Cambodia is best known for the Angkorian temple complex and for the genocidal regime of the Khmer Rouge in the late 1970s. Sharing borders with Thailand, Vietnam and Laos, Cambodia conjures up images of an ancient glorious past and a rich cultural heritage.

Maryknoll Lay Missioners living in Cambodia invite you to discover the natural beauty, the inspiring religious traditions and temples, and the renowned hospitality of the Cambodians. Since the genocide targeted – and murdered – almost an entire generation of Cambodians with a high school education or higher, the Cambodian people are struggling to reconstruct their society. Maryknoll Lay Missioners work in efforts to help Cambodians construct civil services such as health care, social services for the most impoverished, and education. They will accompany trip participants in a rare opportunity to relate to Cambodians involved in rebuilding their country from a grassroots level. Download the Registration Form
