Ed was raised in New York City. He received his BA in Modern Languages and Literatures from Boston College and has a M.A. in French from Catholic University. He taught French at Loyola (MD) for six years before entering law school at Georgetown. He served as a lawyer for 30 years, the last 20 with Dun & Bradstreet and its successor corporations. He volunteered at Daystar Life Center providing services for low income clients. Ed also has taught English while in Ukraine with the Peace Corps.
He raised 6 adopted children and has 13 grandchildren.
